Church kneelers at
St Peter’s
Slinfold, West Sussex
A church has been on the site of St Peter’s since 1230 and was originally of Norman design. By the 1800’s the church was in disrepair and the original church was demolished in 1860 to make way for the church that currently stands.
There has been further demolition and rebuilding since St Peter’s reinvention in 1861. For reasons of safety the spire had to be removed in 1969 along with the removal of a rood screen. At the same time 4 new bells were added to the existing 2 older bells and a stained glass window was added.
The church kneelers submitted to us are a fabulous, fun and colourful collection showing a light hearted approach to kneeler maker.
