Church kneelers at
St Senara
Zennor, Cornwall
There has thought to have been a church on the site since the 6th century. It was originally a Celtic Church dedicated to the Breton Princess Asenora.
Actual records show that the current building dates from 1150 with the the addition of a bell tower in 1450. Restoration to the dilapidated building was carried out in 1890.
The restored bell tower contains six bells, one from the 15th century and two others dating back more than 200 years. The remainder of the bells were recast in 1926.
The church is open to visitors every day from 9am – 6pm although it closes a little earlier in winter.
